Waterhole Creek on the boundary of Morwell East has undergone a safety and quality upgrade. Water flow, water aeration and the embankments have been improved through partnerships with local catchment management authorities.

This enables them to make new friends, experience musical instruments and link these new skills into a bi-annual school musical performance.The Moe Heights Residents' group in partnership with Elizabeth Street Primary School has planted and nurtured a butterfly garden within the school. This provides a living science and nature laboratory to be enjoyed by all the community.By supporting participation in community activities Neighbourhood Renewal is improving residents' health and wellbeing. Churchill Primary School participated in the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge. Students and their families engaged in physical activity to train for the Challenge.Traralgon East benefited from Work for the Dole programs through the construction of footpaths, park benches, native garden beds and a rotunda. Parks have been made more accessible and user-friendly.Community arts projects involving young people make the neighbourhood a safer place. The Wirraway Street bridge underpass in Moe has received a dramatic facelift through a youth arts project. This has produced brightly painted pylons, improved pedestrian lighting and a spectacular entrance into the community.The Walking School Bus has improved the rate of school attendance while creating a fun and friendly way of getting to and from school. Morwell East residents particularly enjoy volunteering and participating in the Morwell Park Primary School community.All primary schools in the Latrobe Valley project areas benefit from a breakfast program that keeps them going all day long, improving concentration and commitment to learning. These Morwell Park Primary School students are enjoying their cereal with the support of volunteer parents.The four communities within the Latrobe Valley project area have benefited from improved streetscapes and garden beautification. This home in Glendonald Estate in Churchill has been upgraded with new front and side fences, enabling the resident to take pride in her beautiful garden filled with fragrant flowers.Neighbourhood Renewal works with others to create training and job opportunities which benefit the whole community. Green Corp trained and employed young people to improve walking tracks and access to parkways in Churchill's Glendonald Estate.
